Man, I like a lot of bands that usually come up in conversation when most overrated bands are being discussed. No big deal if someone brings up someone you like--the point of being overrated is a lot of people like them.

No disrespect to Cobain, but without a doubt his Suicide pretty much shot up their popularity. Often hailed as the only Grunge band in Existence (at least in the eyes of American media), they often forget about the other greats.



I agree. Out of the 4 main Grunge bands (Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Nirvana), they are definitely the worst.

Ryan5, this Disgorge's song is kicking fucking ass. If you can't get into something, don't call it overrated 'cause I think you're missing a point there... have you considered that bands like Mayhem are just too challenging for you to listen to ? I don't mean to be offensive and shit, it's just Black Metal is very expressive and full of emotions, it has a really specific atmosphere. btw I dislike COB 'cause I don't like Melodic Metal in general, especially with keybords and I dislike Metallica's later albums, beginning with black album. It's not their popularity, it's their music.

Infinity, what the Hell man I thought you were cool. AC/DC may not have a helluva lot of variation but why fix what isn't broken? People who rag on AC/DC for being simple and unchanging are completely missing the point. They have done Nothing but good to the Realm of rock and roll since their inception and that won't change, ever. Quite a few of their songs are overplayed as all Hell (Highway to Hell, Back in Black, you know, the songs everybody and their Dog have heard) but their discography is so unbelievably consistent and solid as a whole so I don't care.
