InfinityZero says : I agree on the agressiveness thing, but moving on: Enigmatick, I didn't know you knew about Be'lakor! I didn't know anyone who did... and while I've barely heard 5 songs from them I really like em. As far as Arch Enemy goes, I like everything up to and including Burning Bridges. Their album Stigmata is a legend to me... I just love love love that album. My general opinion about melodeath is that it has steeply gone downhill since the mid 90s and now it seems to be a lot of very overrated bands from Sweden ripping each other off. But this is one of those diamond-in-the-rough genres. As Be'lakor proves, there's great melodeath out there, it's just hard to find. Thought I'd contribute to the thread by posting a song by a very obscure band... After Johan Liiva left Arch Enemy in 99 and before he formed Hearse, he was in a band called NonExist, which only put out one album before (unfortunately) disbanding. Listen: Now THAT is some awesome shit. What do you guys think?
Deathbringer says : Enslaved and Vintersorg are good Viking bands too. But this topic is about Melodic death right? The Black Dahlia Murder is very good.
InfinityZero says : I think MPE has been mentioned. Yeah, I like those guys.
