Wouldn't you rather support the bands you like by actually purchasing their music instead of downloading it? :/

There is Nothing wrong with downloading music off a blogspot. Blogspots are a hotspot for underground music from bands who want their name to be put out there. Also, the big music download blogs have an unbelieveably massive audience. Quite frankly, if it wasn't for blogs like Total Deathcore, Duckcore or The Last Disaster, many young and upcomming underground bands wouldn't have as large of a fan base or motivation to keep making awesome music.

It depends on what YOU download from the blog, or what YOU think is bad to download... download blogs meerly share the music for people to download. Not all download blogs are bad, in Fact, I believe they're becomming a big part of the metal community... besides my blog is a download blog, except I don't post anything that violates any copyright laws.

cause I'm cool like that

I totally agree. Downloading ISN'T always a bad thing.

BlackMetalOwnsYou's has most certainly introduced me to a lot of great bands (mostly underground, but also one or Two mainstream) as well as NorthernWarriors blogspot.

A lot of people now mainly use sites like these for money issues or simply the convenience of it being free and one click away. "Oh, I can't afford it, so I'll just download it." That's what's annoying about it.

Shit, I wouldn't have the majority of the albums I do today if it weren't for downloading blogspots letting me download an album or Two to preview and see if whatever interesting is worth purchasing.

Yes, definately.

Admittedly, I download stuff that may be... under the radar of the cyber police, but I don't mistake it for the real thing nor do I have a bad concious when I download music for free from a label (bands don't get that much money with the CDs as such, more with the merchantdise) who is making a net profit of over $9000. I don't want to spend $30 and finding out that an album is not worth that money. And yeah, sure, there's youtube, but I don't believe that listenting to one song will be enought to make a judegment on the the band itself. If I Wanted to support a band I'd buy T-shirts, go to their concerts and stuff like that.

Its not that I can't afford it (although if I had bought all my music, I'd be sleeping with the fishes already), its just that, sometimes, its just not worth the money. That being said, I don't just "download" music music. if I find something in the shop thats good, Hell yeah I'd buy it.

See I live in a relatively untouched part of Australia. We don't get many CDs out here, any the only way I can access stuff sometimes is through the internet. Wheather its i-tunes or a blogspot. But i-tunes is a massive rip off.

sorry about the rant

Rant all ya want :P I got time to read it seeing as I can't fall asleep

Yeah, you can't Judge an album by one song alone (and if you try to, you're extremely closed minded. I mean, seriously, take the other songs into consideration as well!! ) which is why most songs you find on YouTube are often accompanied by the rest of the album thanks to various people who have Nothing to do but upload their CD collection to their channel track by track.

Usually though, I just search for an album trailer which most of the time I can't find because a lot of the stuff I want to check out YouTube doesn't have because it isn't "mainstream" which really sucks.. :/

Therefore that brings us back to downloading - how I see if an album is worth anything or not. haha

AND MAY IT BE PUT ON THE RECORD : Spending $20+ on an album for it to either suck ass or only have one or Two good tracks sucks dick. Major dick. Just throwin' that in there.

Thats soo true. Thats why I think that buying t's and other merc is the way to go because even if the band is shit, their t-shits still look badass and you know what you're spending money on
