Southern Storm sucks ASS. The first two tracks are pretty cool, but after that it just gets really tedious and lame. It's a one-dimensional album, which isn't a Flaw in and of itself, but it is when that one dimension doesn't hold interest for long. The Sepultura cover is refreshing, even only if the rest of the songs on the album all sound the fucking same and it's a nice change of pace.

Nothing by Parkway Drive, perhaps barring the song "Carrion", should ever be called a Masterpiece ever.

I know. That doesn't change anything. I was referring to the band in general, not that specific album.

Eh, I don't find it tedious. Odd, most people Hate the Sepultura cover

And yes, Parkway Drive sucks.

Well, Chaos A.D. is one of my "albums I really shouldn't enjoy given my usual tastes but I do for some reason", and Krisiun beefed up the song a bit. Black Force Domain is a much better album, it sounds like total shit but at least it's interesting total shit.

Black Force Domain is awesome, but I prefer Southern Storm.

And wait, you enjoy Chaos A.D... sorry but my respect for you dropped a bit.

Hey, you know the rule: Every tr00 metalhead is allowed to like at least one poser album.

Also at that summary. I do enjoy the album, but I'd have to agree.

Gah, fine... then again I did enjoy Blood Stain Child's newest album, so I guess what you said works out.

And yeah, that summary is off of Sputnik. They have great reviews sometimes.

Krisiun is one of those bands I just never looked into because of the Fact that I always sort of knew that they were never really my taste in Death Metal, at least when I was getting into the genre. I'll definitely be looking into Southern Storm though, thanks Merc.

As for a new contribution, with the minor exception of the production, Candlemass's Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is just about perfect doom metal. The riffs and Johan Langqvist's amazing vocals completely sell the album for me throughout. The lead guitar is fan-FUCKING-tastic too.

I actually never listened to Candlemass. Need to get around to listening to that album.

Now another flawless album.

Weird Constellations - Damned Spirits' Dance

This is perfectly produced Black Metal intertwined with several genres/subgenres (pop, jazz, Trance, funk, folk, prog rock, carnival music, Power Metal, etc). The riffs are one of a few things on this album: fast, funky, technical or mellow. This album takes everything and throws it into black metal. Hell, in one song alone you could pinpoint several genre inclusions. And even with all of this, it doesn't turn into something cacophonous like Unexpect's second album. It is extremely melodic, the riffs are perfect, the bass is hella funky the whole time, drumming has a lot of variety and the vocal range is massive. The lyrics themselves range from strange to personal topics.

Here are two examples:
