Landscapes isn't bad, it's just...there. It sounds like nothing. Not good by any Means, but Nothing really offensive.

Ever heard Hardangervidda? It's generally regarded as "the good ambient Ildjarn". It's awesome.

I guess what pisses me off about Landscapes is how everyone seems to think it's 'genious' and 'so deep' etc when it might as well be a blank CD. It conveys absolutely no atmosphere, and not all of the nice artwork in the world can change that.
It's total garbage.
Anyway.
I haven't heard of that band but I'll check em out (maybe).

I thought Landscapes wasn't generally held in high regard, but whatever.

Hardangervidda isn't a band, it's the other ambient album Ildjarn wrote and it's MUCH better.

I don't think I've heard anything worse than In Sorte Diaboli before, except Ildjarn's album 'Landscapes'. Now that I mention it, I should review landscapes just to Bitch about the worst album in existence.
But yeah, ISD is the most limp-dicked excuse for metal, let alone Extreme metal I've ever heard. It's incredibly redundant and not one thing is musically satisfying in it, except Vortex's Voice which is horribly placed so it's buried under stupid musicanship. Just try listening to that whole thing in one sitting--it's unbearable.
(Sorry to go off on a rant, but I just Hate that album. Now you've gotten me into the Mood to review Ildjarn's Lanscapes, though...)

No, no... I enjoy reading rants. Thats why I spend alot of time on sites such as ED and UD 0

As much as everybody likes to rag on there new-ish album, I still think Abrahadabra is way better than In Sorte. Favorite Dimmu Borgir release has to be the Devil's Path split EP they did with old man's child... Check that one out if you haven't heard it

Dimmu Borgir's just a pantheon of suck. This lame elitist thinks the only good material Shagrath wrote was when he was in Fimbulwinter

I have way too many friends who associate themselves with that band. I didn't really like Dimmu Borgir that much. I heard people calling it the Hannah Montana of Black Metal, if that makes sense. But I have been meaning to check out their older albums.

okay, you've done this a couple of times before, it's really annoying. You're like what, 25 at the oldest? It gives the impression that you're some old wise mage that's above us or whatever, kinda condescending.

the only person who's allowed to do that is refractorhead cause he's like 40 and I don't think anybody here would fuck with him.

What do you expect? He looks like he's capable of beating someone to a pulp if angered. And I'm not saying anything mean about him.
