That's a first

I see your point though

no...no...NO!!! I respect that you like it alot but you can't label it as a great album overall. I have an Extreme Hate for the drums in that album (obvious anyways)

strange... i love the drums on the album, i can really hook onto that snare and just Bang my Head until it falls off... The intro to St. Anger just makes me so... i can't even explain it. it's just Rage invoking imo

There are tons of albums I would consider to have no flaws, yet aren't anywhere near perfect. You've got to take the emotional connection into consideration as much as your own objective standards. Take an album like Ashore the Celestial Burden, an album I consider flawless- there's pretty much Nothing wrong with it, it's masterfully composed, nails the atmosphere it's going for perfectly, and really doesn't have a bad moment- but I'd personally put Stone's Reach ahead of it because even though it's rife with flaws (awkward transitions, overlong songs, one-dimensional vocals) I really FEEL the music a lot of the time, it's just got those riffs scattered about that give me the chills- and I never quite get that feeling with Ashore the Celestial Burden.

So if you could find an album or ep from a band, and it is perfect musically wise, yet you could actually feel the music (emotional tie), then that would be your perfect album; bacisally anyone's perfect album. (Flawless).

Yeah, you've got it. Ashes Against the Grain is the only album I've felt has accomplished this for me so far. Kvelertak and Hvis Lyset TAR Oss come really really really REALLY close, mind you. Like they're a 99.5/100.

Yes. They are perfect but Ashes is better, so I can't, in my good Conscience, give them a 100.

Emotionally connected albums:

-Obvious album goes here-
Devil Doll - Dies Irae
Winterhorde - Underwatermoon
Discordance Axis - The Inalienable Dreamless
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
God Is An Astronaut - s/t
Bola - Soup
Kashiwa Daisuke - Program Music I

All the other albums I Worship are amazing, but don't impact me as these do. Even Precambrian. Though I do love The Ocean dearly, they don't Evoke close to as much emotion as these albums do.

It's hard to find bands that can actually provoke emotion. There's only a select few, and i must admit, i was overwhelmed when i Saw Metallica live, particularly when they played One.
