Now that I am in Germany, most chicks know of the bands that I am talking about and have listened to them, but they don't follow on it in a regular basis.

I guess european chicks are fond of the underground more than the american ladies.

To me, that is awesome. On a side note, Metalcore is NOT metal. It's gay.

I like old mainstream metal and I can't say I'm a fan of Grindcore and a lot of Extreme metal bands - though I don't mind listening to them.
I generally like melodic music and I wouldn't change my taste in music just because somebody considers some bands I like too 'mainstream'. As a matter of fact, I know a lot of ladies that like more Brutal stuff than men, but I'm not one of them.

I mean, don't get me wrong, but I think europe has more of a definance of how the female gender is fond to different metal bands than the amercians, because more of it is produced and it develops a culture I guess. Americans look Down on that sort of situation and way to many different cultures and groups are blended to become crap and things tend to lose it's true side, like underground metal for instance. You take a band like Cannibal Corpse and some outrageous teeny boppy band and put them together to develop emo gay bands that produce Metalcore and become a subgenre and everyone thinks your metal just because you have black swayed hair to the left with a fake lip piercing, tight girl pants and a white shirt that says As I Lay Dying on it. Now a typical in America wearing that crap is most likely to say "Who is As I Lay Dying?" while wearing that shit than to a European chick wearing that who knows who they are but can explain what concerts and other music she's into like possibly Cannibal Corpse.
 
I hope that sort of makes sense, I feel that I am just rambling a totally no sense scenario here. Thing is, to me, american metalchicks are stupid at their metal knowledge just because their boyfriend listens to it, while a typical european chick listens to it, because they grew up with it not because of their boyfriend but like Norway and the infamous Norwegian Death Metal and Black Metal scene that expanded in the 90's and they grew up to listen and to like that sound unlike America who developed the ebonic shitty rap/hiphop emocore numetal faggot music.

yeah, i kinda get what you're saying, here in the US it's a rarity to come across anyone who has a decent amount of "Metal Knowledge" other than the pop bands like As i Lay Crying and Carnifex and other talentless bullshit that is created solely to attract a teenage audience

this i got to agree with you...metalcore is gay,...well my side singapore it is about the same case too...but it is in a larger scale...it extend to the both sexes...it is normal to find people in what they call the metal community in singapore to listen to Hardcore or Metalcore and they call themselves metalhead....while asking them question like "is All That Remains a Death Metal band?" they will just reply "All that remains is death metal..trust me and because i am a metalhead(or in the worst case, I am a huge Death Metal fan)" and not knowing who started or which is the first band that started death metal... that is why i am rather Sick and tired of my metal community here...i have Forsaken the scene and gigs here...

Well idk what you guys are going to consider "brutal"... but I listen to a lot of Death Metal, deathcore, post-hardcore, and yes Metalcore lol...
