But for my opinion most of the girls love mainstream metal.

Most do, sadly, but not all. Myself and a friend love good ol' Death Metal, and whatever other metal we find good. We're going to Hellfest in June and will be hitting up Suffocation, Dying Fetus, General Surgery, Devin Townsend, The Faceless, Katatonia, Decapitated, Bloodbath, etc.

I think the question itself is not if women listen to only mainstream metal . but what do you consider mainstream metal ? We live in a time , that if you arent listening to the classical Death/Grind/Black stuff , you are considered soft metalhead and the others more badasses . I mean come on   , a girl might like to sing Scorpions in the bathroom   , but that doesnt mean she belongs to the mainstream , or she cant open your Head with a bat . Its not about the kind , but about the openmindness . I have seen a few girls that are openminded enough to try every kind of music , (more than men actually) .
