No, you guys don't understand. There was another little discussion going on in the "moderators" thread between me and him that prompted that discussion that led to him making that comment. Trust me when I say that the comment wasn't sudden, there was a backstory to it.

We do understand; you're a twat. You could have just asked him to elaborate and acted like a grown-up, but instead you had to ACT like a condescending douchebag. Lay off him.

Please, regardless of some discussion, can't you guys just get along?

I'd be perfectly willing to if he didn't constantly Attack other peoples opinions. What a posery git. I suppose we're not all as kvlt as he is.

I have a feeling that this is about to turn into a rather hostile discussion...
Let's lay off the name calling, at least...

I'm not going to start a Fight with a kid, but I WILL tell him when he's being a douche. I've tried to tell him to lay off before, as have some of the mods. He needs to tone Down his aggression and stop berating people so much. I'm Sick of seeing him pick on miniradman as well, you clearly know as well as I do that if anybody else had said they were 'in the middle', his response would have been entirely different.

Cripes, since NoNe of you guys SAW the other thread (NoNe of you have access to the forum in which it was posted) you haven't really seen the whole thing. It basically went like this:

I commented on how the forum is weighted more towards pointless smalltalk rather than actual musical discussion and that it should be changed, as that is what a metal forum is about- talking about METAL.

He said he liked the forums the way they were and didn't want them to turn into "boring music talk" or something like that.

A few little jabs were traded, but Nothing major- and I tried to retain the Integrity of the thread by posting a link to this thread- one I had started in hopes of setting a good example for the forum and promoting discussion.

Then he came in and posted that four worder, and it just set me off the edge because I KNOW he was doing it out of pure spite. It was provoked, and I get cunty when provoked.

Either way, I'd just like to forget about it- this thread has been Fucked Up enough already. I'd like this post to be the last one regarding the topic and I'd like to get back to the original one, but I know that probably isn't going to be the case.

Well, I made my stake in the actual discussion.
Coposition wins for me, 'cause it's the foundation of the music n' whatnot.

Enigmatick, learn to deal with it better. You should have just asked him to elaborate on why he was in the middle; then NoNe of this would have happened, you would have taken the mature route, and probably got an answer off of him. See?

I value both. I also don't consider Necrophagist Soulless, although Malmsteen really is the Zenith of Soulless virtuosity. However, I think delivery is slightly more important for me. A song really has to make you feel, because that's what the arts are for, right? They're Born from emotion. And really, nobody wants to see a band that play like automatons, completely passionless and braindead. But as I said, I value both, and my favourite bands generally have aspects of the two.

I more or less agree with you; however, one can argue that composition can exist without delivery, but delivery can't exist without composition. Since composition is basically, as IZero said, the foundation of music, wouldn't that technically make it more "important"?
