In my opinion, Kings of The Carnival Creation is the only truly good song from that album. The other songs from it are average to bad, in my opinion.

I'm not sure what is better. I just listened to Architecure of a Genocidal Nation from the same album, and it was Beyond words amazing. I'm confused what would be better, KoTCC or AoaGN?

And about Vortex, yes we'll miss him. He was amazing with his vocal style. Dimmu will live if Shagrath's clean vocals are good though.

Well, Vortex was the only person on In Sorte Diaboli who still showcased his talent pretty well... his vocals just seemed like they were placed haphazardly in Random songs. I think he would do better with himself outside of Dimmu Borgir.

yeah i agree, i liked their old style more before Vortex showed up, his clean vocals in Dimmu Borgir just seemed kinda out of place. He was better in Borknagar than DB i think, his vocals have a Progressive sound to em, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant is my favorite album from them by far

My favorite album from them is For All Tid, with Stormblast a close second. Stormblast does have two or three of the best Dimmu songs ever though, but listening to the whole thing in one sitting, you see that Stormblast isn't as varied in sound as For All Tid is.

that split EP they released with Old Man's Child was pretty awesome too. Devil's Path was an excellent song, i'm not sure why they didn't release it on any of their albums

Well, Devil's Path was also released on an EP of the same name, although it's much harder to find than the Old Man's Child split.
