Biografie : Woods Of Belial

AUTUMN 1995 - SUMMER 1996
Blood and Wohi awaken to a common urge to create the most evil and oppressive music ever. Their musical minds, being grown up by the grim old school of modern black metal, are tempted to fulfill the urge; thus are born Woods of Belial. As soon as the winter arrives, they take a four-tracker along to a rehearsal session and capture three tracks of the most perverse and ugly black doom metal, name it Thy Unholy Pentagram and release it through Meat Hook Productions.

AUTUMN 1996 - AUTUMN 1997
Blood and Wohi get seriously interested in experimenting with heavy machinery in the art of Woods of Belial. Horned Black is asked to join the band and to help with the creation of "industrialized black doom". In summer 1997, with material completed, they enter two home studios to spawn the mythically titled Baxabaxaxaxaxabaxaxaxaxa! 666 Yndstr Draconis for Meat Hook Productions. Necrostorm is asked to join the band for the recording; however, it later appears that he is not needed as a permanent member, and he resigns from the task.

WINTER 1998 - AUTUMN 1999
Woods of Belial agree to record another demo for Meat Hook Productions. New material starts to get shape, and the title for the release is chosen to be Deimos XIII. Blood programs the backgrounds in summer 1998, and studio time is reserved to complete the album; however, schedules of different members don"t seem to fit, and the time remains unused. Woods of Belial surrender to the current impossibilities of the project, and all plans are temporarily withdrawn. Frustrated at the situation, Blood eventually records all guitars for Deimos XIII by himself in spring 1999. Horned Black awakens half a year later and completes the introduction for the album.

WINTER 2000 - WINTER 2002
Woods of Belial get approached by Impaler of Trendies Productions, who propose them a contract concerning a vinyl release. The deal is made with the acceptance of Meat Hook Productions, and thereby Woods of Belial agree to record Deimos XIII for another label. The project advances as Blood records the bass in spring 2000. The instrumental components of the album are mixed in autumn 2000, and then everything stops. Meat Hook Productions retire from business. Due to a sad incident, in summer 2001, also Impaler of Trendies retire from business, and Woods of Belial find themselves without financial shelter. All further plans about Deimos XIII are withdrawn.

SPRING 2002 - SUMMER 2003
Woods of Belial eventually get together to record the vocals and other missing parts for the three middle tracks of Deimos XIII. The album is mixed at the instant, and negotiations with different labels begin. Horned Black completes the last track of the album in autumn 2002. Next winter it is evident that all negotiations fail. Afterwards Firebox Records hear what they have done and sign Woods of Belial. The complete work is taken to Finnvox Studios to be mastered, and it is due to release in summer 2003.
