VoT was originally formed in 2008 by Michael Spafford with Kirby Ahlms and friends writing a handful of songs. There was a two year hiatus that left Michael Spafford the final remaining original member. In 2010 Michael Spafford teamed up with Alexander Oden to write what would later become "The Godless One". Unfortunately, Alexander Oden had to step away before the release of "The Godless One", once again leaving Michael Spafford alone.

February 2011 brings the release of "The Godless One" as Michael Spafford once again perseveres to bring VoT to fruition. Persistence pays off as February 2011 marks the arrival of Logan Slind on Bass Guitar, Nick Nyland on Drums, and Dave "The F'n Riffsmith" Whitmer on Guitars.
The fate of the band is no longer in question.
