Formed in 2015, Urantia is a Heavy Power Metal band with a female vocal. His discography includes the EPs “Inneverse I” (2017) and “Inneverse II” (2019), in addition to the singles “Evil Angel” (2018) and “Van Gogh” (2021), which anticipates the mood of the next album, with expected to launch later this year. With heavy and fast instrumental, the band mixes elements of Brazilian and classical music from the Baroque period. While the lyrics seek to convey positive messages when addressing topics such as philosophy, history and mysticism, as well as science fiction, literature and fantasy.
“We have a three-pillar triangle for the construction of our sound. At one end we have Heavy Metal, more specifically Heavy Power Metal, which is a slightly heavier style than traditional Heavy Metal and has a characteristic of speed (that's why Power), virtuosity and striking melodies. But we also have hints of Progressive, Folk and Thrash Metal as well.”, explains Vicktor Correa, Urantia’s drummer.
In the second part of the musical triangle is the search for the valorization of Brazilian music, and includes its own cultural identity in its compositions, and brings musical influence from very known brazilian groups and artists, like Clube da Esquina, Djavan, Zé Ramalho. In addition to regional rhythms such as maracatu, tambor de crioula, tambor mineiro, baião, samba, bossa nova, among others. The last part of the musical influences comes from the virtuosity full of textures and striking phrases of the classical music of the Baroque period (Brazilian and European). With influences from Antonio Vivaldi, J.S.Bach and Henry Purcell, etc.
During the pandemic, the band participated in several online festivals, such as Circus Online Fest, Jovem Rock Festival, Under Fest, Mosh in Park, O Subsolo Festival, Caio Indica Fest, Power Woman Fest, Bode Metal Fest and Hell the Janeiro Metal Live .
