Biografie : Thousand Lakes

The Heavy Metal band Thousand Lakes was formed in October 1996 by the following line-up : Steve Melsen (guitar), Phil Kessel (drums), Corneille Hoffmann (guitar), Daniel Fastro (bass), Armand Thies (vocals).

In February 1997, the latter was replaced by Rony Willems, who henceforth is responsible for the lyrics which express his emotions and fantasies.

After several concerts, they participated at the music contest "Concours de Sélection" which took place on the 2nd May 1998 in Dudelange. Their musical as well as their stage performance convinced the jury, so they made it to the first place. Due to this achievement they opened the "Fête de la Musique" festival on the 13th of June 1998 in Dudelange.
On June 20th 1998 appeared their first 4-track CD titled "Sphere".

In March 1999, Daniel Fastro left the band. Fortunately an immediate substitute was found in Fränk Meysenburg.
In May 1999, they won the title of best newcomer band '98 in the magazine "dip".

On August 14th 2003, their second CD, an album called "Gardens of Shirkadath" was released.

In February 2004, Claude Ewert replaced Frank Meysenburg on the bass guitar. Enclave Productions from Portugal released the 15th September 2004 a compilation called “Kingdom Of Glory – Volume 1” on which the song “Children Of The Netherworld” appears.

The 24th of September 2005, they celebrated their 10 years anniversary at their 89th concert in the Maison Syndicale in Dudelange.

In 2006, the recordings to their new album called "Beyond Time and Space" have started.

In May 2007, Claude left the band due to musical reasons and after a long search for a new bass player, Frank Meysenburg, who played already in Thousand Lakes from 1999 to 2004, came back to team up again with Thousand Lakes.
In November 2007, Steve decided to left the band as rhythm guitar player but he will remain in Thousand Lakes as manager.

Finally, in November 2007, the new album "Beyond Time and Space" has been released : 68 minutes recorded, mixed and mastered in the „Newsproduction Recording Studio“ in Niederkorn (Luxembourg) by Roll Rossi in an typical Heavy Metal Sound.
