Biografie : Subtera

Formed in 2000 under the dead remains of the extinct band Core, Subtera (Underground in Esperanto language) starts the first rehearsals with a musical purpose turned to a rawer and faster kind of sound and with a lyrical aspect dealing to a skeptic view against the injustice mechanism that perpetuate the human ruin – a translation of a world consumed by inconscience and Discord.

At April 2000 the band finally releases his first effort, the full-length album called “Discord” by the label and distributor Tumba Records. With 8 songs on the track list, Subtera starts the divulgation for his new work, playing hard in gigs and festivals around the national territory. Between August and September of the same year, a small tour has begun crossing South American countries like Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia. The responses for the album are marked with good reviews on specialized magazines and fanzines, baptizing the band as the new promise into the underground.

At August 2002 the band returns again to shock the musical scene with the releasing of “Nothing And Death” – the so waited second album putted in market this time by the label Morte Pacifica. With a better production, originally recorded at TNT Studio (owned by the band itself), the album brings all the static qualities of Subtera, mixing the fastness and heaviness of the sound to a more acid lyric concept dealing about the dark future of the mankind and the horrors created by men. The expectations about this new effort are market again with good reviews and critics on specialized magazines, leading the band to record a video clip to the song “R.I.P. Makind” – made in a self-independent way by the band itself and followed by lots of presentations on gigs and festivals, totalising more than 40 shows under 11 different states between 2002 and 2003.

2005 sign up the return of Subtera with the better and well-produced studio album of his career – “Apocalypsed”, a compilation of 10 songs with a high hypnotic approach, mixing the aggression of Grindcore to the rawness and technical of the “Old School” Metal.
Recorded in analogical system at Da Tribo studio in São Paulo and released in independent way by the label Dezerto Music created and owned by the band itself, “Apocalypsed” can be surely translated as the perfect soundtrack for the last days of humanity, putting in question all the essence of human nature front a progress that doesn't care about consequences.

Beside lots of shows and the great reception to the new album in the underground, the band is called to participate to a DVD compilation titled “Da Tribo Magazine” released in 2005 where Subtera appears with live versions for the songs “Acid Rain” and “Deadly Medicine” as the most exponents of his new discography and incisive represents of his acid and sonic torment. The most recent initiative of the band was the shooting of the second video clip for the song “Acid Rain” under a more professional production.

Established with William (guitar e vocals), Waldner (drums) e Patrick (bass and vocals), Subtera still spreading his sonic mass and messages with a highly questionable point of view through the underground scene.
