The band was born in August 2008, in the city of Itapira, 170 Km from the capital of the state, São Paulo - Brasil. The group results from the sum of experienced São Paulo’s underground musicians that brought with them great experience which has added diversity and musical quality to the band.

Slasher comes with a well-defined musical goal: unite elements of Thrash Metal with the melodic quality of Heavy Metal and then, add to this result, the influences which each member has.

In January 2009, the band released its first official record quite independently; the EP Broken Faith with 4 tracks (Broken Faith, Enemy Of Reality, Art of War and Tormento ou Paz). Shortly after being released it attracted the attention of radio stations, magazines and blogs all around the globe, yielding extremely positive reviews and highlighting Slasher in the main Rock/Metal Medias from Brasil.

At the present moment, the band is working on the compositions that are going to make part of its first full length, entitled Pray For The Dead, which is expected to be released at the first half of 2011.
