Biografie : RetroSatan

RETROSATAN was the biggest Argentinian cult band of the 80s in Latin America! Their demo "Grito Mortal" was spreaded from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego. There were great reviews in all parts of Latin America, but they never managed to release the material on LP or CD. Only in 2005 it is now finally available for the Metaleros Latinos and also the world wide Metal collectors scene!
The band was founded in 1983 in Caseros, close to Buenos Aires. They played great traditional 80s Metal with real Black lyrics, influenced by MERCYFUL FATE. The show was an important part and was the most spectacular ever in the Metal Argentino scene, ...lots of explosions, fire, blood, and an impressive stage set and clothes!! This brought them a lot of fanatic fans, and the help of "Hurling Metal" maker Pocho Metalico who did a great job promoting the band all over the continent and in Spain! In 1986 the first 3 track demo was recorded, and in 1987 followed the "Grito Mortal" demo. In December 1987 they played a show at the "South American Death Festival Holocaust III" in Santiago / Chile, together with MASSACRE (Chile) and VULCANO (Brazil). With the same bands followed a show 2 weeks later in San Martin / Argentina. In 1988 they played in Uruguay with HERMETICA and ALVACAST and at the end of this year the 11 track demo "Grito Mortal en vivo" was released. They changed the style to a bit more Thrash direction, and the singer Ruben left the band because of this (he was before and afterwards member of TONELADA). There were some line up changes before , but beginning in 1989 the slow end, with several more changes, started (there was no original member left at this time). At the beginning of 1989 they organized themselves the "Primer festival Sudamericana de Heavy Metal" in Buenos Aires with MASSACRE (Chile) and ALVACAST (Uuruguay). New singer became Diego Valdez (later AZEROTH; EIDYLLION and others), but the band fell apart before they could record new songs. At the end, the later JERIKO members, guitarist Claudio Duliba and bass player Marcelo Bracalante, joined the band, and Marcelo continued also 2 years later (1991) with 2 other RETROSATAN members with the short living band project Grito Mortal.
Only in the year 2005 the brazilian label "Dies Irae" released this cult material on a very limited LP edition with nice gatefold cover and lots of pics and flyer prints!
