Biografie : Pseudostratiffied Epithelium

P.E. was born early 90's in San José, Costa Rica. At the beginning was formed with the idea to be a grind core band, issue that was accomplished by original members of the band: Ronald Jiménez (vocals), Alfonso Pérez (guitars, bass, drums). There was an even more antique member at that time that only rehearse a few time named Johans Pereira that used to play drums.

With that line up, Pseudo recorded first demo tape called Grotesque Genital Dismemberment. With this tape, Pseudostratiffied Epithelium reach some exposure to the new born costar Rican death metal scene.

Problems amongst Ronald and Alfonso forced them to finish their musical relationship. The band stop activities ‘till Ronald decided to find new musicians to keep going on music.

After a year of a useless search he found three guys who used to hang out together at San Pedro, a neighborhood in San José that is recognized by its bars and night life. Those three make a match with Ronald and began rehearsing early '94.

The line up was complete again: Ronald Jiménez (vocals), Mauricio Baltodano (guitars), Marco Mora (bass), Fernando Baltodano (drums).

Only three months after their first rehearsal, they play a gig with Mexican death metal band CENOTAPH. The success was undeniable. The new band idea please metal freaks and again the band was expose in the scene as a brutal/grind/children killing metal band.

Anxious to record, they got into studio and record one of the classical Costa Rican death metal pieces, remembered even the years passed by: SODOMIZING CHILDREN CORSPSES.

This demo tape was recorded at The Mix Studios and was produced by Mexican label American Line. It has a large distribution thanks to American Line and opened new doors around the world to Pseudostratiffied Epithelium.

At January '96, Pseudo was invited to play a mini tour to El Salvador and Guatemala where the band was able to bring brutal death grind out of Costa Rican borders. It was a huge experience for the band and a great opportunity.

Back in Costa Rica, the band went to The Mix Studios again, and began to record Sinistrous Necromantika, its third work more into black/atmospheric/death metal. It has a huge success and nowadays is still on sale on some internet sites.

With Sinistrous Necromantika the band was expose to far lands like European ones and Japan and other Asian countries.

After the recording, Ronald Jiménez decided to left the band for personal reasons.

The band kept the death metal idea and still rehearsing ‘till INTO FLAMES came to life. An eight songs collection, Into The Flames was the next record for Pseudo, after five years out of studio. The Mix Studios was chosen again to do the recording and it was produced by Japanese BLOODBATH RECORDS. This album was the first on P.E's career as full length album. Recorded back in 2001 and produce in 2004.

The line up for this album was: Marco Mora (vocals, bass), Mauricio Baltodano (vocals, guitars), Fernando Baltodano (drums).
