This band was founded by duo GHM and Sinneral. It’s name is Panychida from the first moment. Inspiration for lyrics was a huge knowledge of mythological stories, legends, studies (Egyptian, Germanic, Slavic). Word „panychida“ means commemoration ceremony, burial rite. .

The very first song, Dream about the Roaring Sky, was composed in October 2004. 2 years later, it appeared on 2 track promo CD, called „Promo 2006“. This song is one fifth of a fantasy story with features of mythology. Another songs and a secound concept appears soon, this time inspired by a book „Slovanské nebe“ (Slavic Heaven), by J. Toman.

Honza V. joins the band to play guitar in April 2005, Talic for bass in October. First live gig was held in a home pub, Parlament Club, in Pilsen on December the 29th, 2005. There are some photos in the gallery.

There were some reviews for the Promo 2006 by some magazine reviewers and our friendly listeners. It took mostly positive reactions. Links for these reviews are in „Press“ section of this website. We played over 25 gigs in 2006. Honza V. had to leave for some time (job in abroad), his place took Pavel „Mormotic“ from November 06 to March 07, when Honza V. was back. Thanks, Pavel!

Our first full-lenght album, called „Paganized“ was done in spring 2007. We spent autumn and winter 2006 in studio. Album has 41 minutes of 11 tracks. Then promos were sent to labels. February 2007 – time to wait first reactions. Several labels answered, we decided to sign up to FOLTER RECORDS (Ger).

Honza Kapák became our full member to play drums. We played lots of gigs and festivals in 2007, f.e.: Brutal Assault, AFOD, Under the Black Sun. Paganized release party happened on October the 13th, 2007 in Pilsen, in front of full hall of fans! This gig was the first of Phantoms of Pilsen series!

One year after releasing Paganized, G.H.M. decided to leave the band. His son was born and he needed to put much more energy and time to his family. His last concert with Panychida was Phantoms of Pilsen 2 on November the 9th, 2008.

A small tour with serbian horde The Stone was ahead and we were still without a frontman. We found a big, although temporary, help in Markéta (Belligerence band). She went that tour with us and also helped us at some other gigs at spring and summer 2009, including Northern Lights Festival, Austria. Her staying in Panychida was only temporary, so our searching for a singer continued.

It was a deed of fortune for us to meet Vlčák, a young and talented singer. He became a full-time member of the band. His played first gig with us in Kutna Hora on September the 18th, 2009.

We started to record a pre-production materials for the next full-lenght album in December 2009. Main recording happened during secound week of January 2010. During spring and summer, we have finished the album. It was prepared to be released. Album is called „Měsíc, les, bílý sníh ~ Moon, Forest, Blinding Snow“ and was released by Folter Records again.

A tour with serbian May Result, Avenger and Asgard bands happened in April 2010 and in February 2011 a minitour with french band Svart Crown.

Summer 2011 festivals are ahead. We work on lot of new material, which will be used for the next, third, album.
