The day of Ordalea band creation is of February, the 26 of 2007. The band was formed by joining musicians from Noterday band and their friends.

The name “Ordalea” is a deliberate change of word “ordeal”, which means “divine justice”.

Initially, Ordalea was thought as folk-metal project. Invariable members of the band from the day of creation are : - a vocalist and keyboarder Anna Ryjanna Egorova,
- guitarists Viacheslav Avdeev (Adison) and Sergey Dushenko (ChudoGoblin),
- a bassist Oleg Egorov (Mors).
Also there were a flautist, a violinist and of course a drummer, but unfortunately soon we started looking for a new person.

The Ordalea band started developing in selected musical style, but the manner of playing became harder, and in autumn 2007, after changes in group membership and flautist's and violinist's leaving, we decided to play something harder. At that time a new drummer, Sam Kozlachkov (Cardinal), came to the band. Co-operation with him continued till January, 2008.

In this membership Ordalea made a concert in X.O. club October, the 03rd of 2007. At that moment, the style we played could be called heavy folk-metal. The band started its concert activity, and recorded some songs at home studio.

The next change in group membership and style happens in the beginning of 2008. New drummer, Max Ryabokon (Alexis Harmaa), came to Ordalea. Sam became a vocalist... so, the music of the band became even harder.

In this membership, Ordalea made a concert in the Relax club of February, the 05th of 2008. After that concert, Sam left the band, and we started to look for a new vocalist and we decided to play something like melodic-thrash-death.

In June, 2008, our new vocalist, Sergey Nikiforov (Nikki, ex-vocalist Shehine), joined the band and since October, the 19th of 2008, we started concert activity.

Now the Ordalea band is preparing to record a demo-CD !
