Back in shades of 1994 Mordra and Tyrann, who were close friends by 1990 playing in the same band at that time, decided to put their own music up to satisfy their spirit, flesh and bones, as their taste of brutal music and the temptation for the occult went similar ways just after they started playing seperately in different bands. So they chose the way of the darkest night and founded NOX INTEMPESTA as a two-piece having Mordra and Tyrann sharing guitars/vocals/bass and Tyrann playing drums while Mordra did all of the keyboards. The music they wanted to come up with had to be the purest BLACK METAL.
In this line up they recorded their first and only two demos A GRIM RED KISS OF TRANSYLVANIA and MAJESTIC SCARLET NOVA in that same year. Both demos were ment to be for only a few close friends who shared their understanding, ideas and ideals of what real dark, aggressive and brutal music should be like. Iit happened to be that Metal Maniac Jörg Schröder of FOLTER REC. in Berlin had a listen to their works by the time of 1997. Being impressed by their skills and their potential NOX INTEMPESTA was offered a deal over two MCDs and one full - length album. Die Lieder Von Tod Und Ewigkeit was the first official release to come up that same year. It was recorded in the midst of winter on January 30th in Berlin's OCTOSOUND STUDIOS and contained four songs ( for setlist and lyrics have an eye on the disography ) which perfectly show the dark side of the soul. By the end of 1998 all 1.000 copies of the release were sold out and the band received some good critiques at last.
But as far as NOX INTEMPESTA came with DIE LIEDER...... they recognized it was as far as they could get as a two-piece, because live appearences were impossible to realize. As new material was already written the next step was obviously to complete the line-up for live mayhem. The first one to join was drummer Holocaust after one audition that at the same time brought up his pseudonym. Closely to the upcoming recording sessions bass player Monastiir joined in and the still current line-up was completed. Again back to the OCTOSOUND STUDIOS the second MCD was done. For a change all keyboards werde dropped and the result was an aggressive, brutal and hellish fast output full of coldhearted hatred entitled De vermis mysteriis which again holds four songs. Only 333 copies were ment to be sold as the CD was released in early January 1998 at the bands opening shows for BLACK-METAL-legend MAYHEM in Berlin ( 16th ) and Leipzig ( 17th ).
Earlier on NOX INTEMPESTA gave their live-debut at the FUCKING CHRISTMAS METAL MEETINGS on the 26th of December 1997. After another gig at Berlin's club DIE INSEL on the 6th of March 1998 the band went on rehearsing material for the first full-length album DAMNANUS DOMINUM. The recording sessions were scheduled for March/April 1998 and well known german producer HARRIS JOHNS was chosen to make this record sound special.
The recording was done from March 23rd April 3rd 1998 at the SPIDERHOUSE STUDIOS (Lütte Germany) and being the first major production of the band everyone was pleased with the results. Release date for DAMNANUS DOMINUM was the 26th of June 1998 where NOX INTEMPESTA were playing at the UNDER THE BLACK SUN OPEN AIR festival. While the critiques on De vermis mysteriis were very good they blew away everyone at the NOX camp this time.
Four new tracks of that forthcoming brutality were presented on January 8th 1999 at the LINSE ( Berlin ) were NOX INTEMPESTA opened the show for brasilian death/blacksters KRISIUN. As by March 1999 still wasn't decided if FOLTER REC. wanted to produce the new output of the band ( their contract was fulfilled ), they took the weekend 19./20./21. of that same month to produce a 4 - track promo cd on their own as well as they were keen on thrashing their new material down to listen what it sounds like. Once again they chose the OCTOSOUND STUDIOS ( Berlin ) and after three days of hard work NOX INTEMPESTA are back with Todeskult fast blowing, technical, brutal and loud as it can be !
On the 26th of June 99 the band played the UNDER THE BLACK SUN OPEN AIR FESTIVAL II in front
of 850 raging headbangers: NOX INTEMPESTA entered the stage after HYPOCRISY and the crowd went wild. The new material was accepted really well though it is a lot more technical than their music up to the debut-album. Finally the band took a break again to finish work on the second album Aggestum Armageddon which by now nearly is done. They also changed the singer. Tyrann concentrates now only on guitarplaying and Monastiir took over the place as the singer. November 23rd 1999 they played Berlin again at the KNAACK club where they opened the show for ANGEL CORPSE and MARDUK. The evening ended up in a success as the crowd got into a fury !!!!
