Kandaon was formed in May 2005 A.B. under the inspiration of the northern Carpathians of Dacia, in the city of Piatra Neamt, by Ciprian Florea (vocals/bass/drums) joined, short after, by Radu Chelariu (guitars). Recordings for the first demo began immediately and were intrerupted when Radu left the band in early september due to ideological matters. Kandaon continued as a solo project and the self-released Demo was out in September and brought a contract with the pagan orientated label Lupii Daciei Records. The first material “Daoi Carpates”, a 23 minute EP, was released on the 21st of December at Agnita (Dacia) with the occasion of the Winter Solstice celebration. The music presented by the band is a grim/primitive black metal inspired by early black metal bands like Darkthrone, Burzum, Immortal or Graveland with pagan lyrics regarding our dacian ancestors but nevertheless an antichristian attitude involved.
Kandaon is ready to continue his fight for the rebirth of the Pagan Fatherland and for the honour, pride and true values of mankind with new material as a promo in the spring of 2006 A.B. and a full-length CD until winter.
