Biografie : Her Enchantment

The story of Her Enchantment goes back to early 1994, when two young boys from Arnhem, Holland decide to start a Death/Doom metalband. Inspired by bands like Cannibal Corpse and My Dying Bride they start the band Crucified Corpse. At the end of 1994 they record their first demo “Reflections from the other Side” as a quartet. Right after the recording they sensed that the band was missing something, so after some brainstorming they decided that the band needed a female-vocalist. This changed the bands direction more to the spherical and Doommetal in the vein of “old” Anathema and My Dying Bride, but never ignoring the brutal Deathmetal touch. In 1995 they recorded their second Demo, entitled “Servile to the Serene”. This demo was received well by the Dutch media and metal fans. With aspirations of releasing their first full-length CD they started to compose new material and do more gigs to promote their work. This paid of in 1998 when recordlabel Polar Bear/Killer Whale discovered Crucified Corpse at a venue in Holland.Whilst recording their debut album the band decided to change the name Crucified Corpse to a name more in keeping with their current style. And thus Her Enchantment was born. Their debut album “Sagas” was well received in Holland by the major media. Dutch main metalzine Aardschok rated the album 81 out of 100 and the Belgian metalzine Mindview awarded it silver.Promoting their debut album “Sagas” with lots of live-performances, Her Enchantment enter the studio in 2003 to record the promo “2003” due to the bankruptcy of their record label. After the set back of losing their recordlabel, they return to the Dutch metalscene with new found hope and the CD-single “Lacrimae Mundi”. This resulted in a new record deal with the Greek label Burning Star.Due to several changes in the band's line-up through out the years, the style of Her Enchantment evolved from brutal Death/Doom metal to melodic Death/Heavy metal, inspired by bands like Iced Earth, In Flames, My Dying Bride and “old” Anathema. Because of their diversity in styles they were able to play with all kinds of metalbands like God Dethroned, Ancient Rites, Trail of Tears, Epica, Callenish Circle, HammerHawk, Balance of Power, Lanfear, Edenbridge, Dreamscape and many more.
