Biografie : Hellbox

1998
Hellbox is formed in September in Turku, Finland as a Venom cover band with the following line-up: Hell D. Satansson – bass & vocals, Evil Hellman – guitar & vocals, Len Hellkill – drums, Ramses Demon – guitar.

1999
After helluva lot of rehearsing and hundreds of beerz the first demo is recorded in May. It's called “Satanas Lucifre Excelsis” and includes only Venom cover songs. The demo won't ever be released officially.
First gig at DBTL city festival in Turku.

2000
Ramses Demon leaves the band and the rest continue as a trio. The band decided to take a step further and concentrate mainly in writing own material. “Servevil” demo is recorded, including seven own songs, which are played at gigs also.

2001
Third demo ”Helvetium” is recorded in February and Hellbox gets its first radio airplay at Metalliliitto show when “The hunt” is played.
Most significant gigs during this year include shows at famous clubs in Helsinki, namely Tavastia and Nosturi.

2002
”Devileashed” marks the fourth demo for Hellbox, recorded right in the beginning of the year. Some negotiations about a record deal, but nothing serious comes up.

2003
First gig abroad, in Stockholm, Sweden at Alcazar Club.
Finally, in July, a record deal is inked with KTOK records, a small Finnish label. Debut album “Sadisticlaw” is released in August.

2004
”Demonatas” recording sessions in February, resulting a total of 13 songs. But no one seems to want to release them.
In April, Hellbox becomes a quartet when Hellvis Perversley joins as lead vocalist. In October a new demo, “Hornahead”, is recorded.
Also in October, a tribute concert to Quorthon/Bathory is held in Turku, Hellbox playing the songs of Bathory's black metal era, with Moonsorrow teaming up covering the viking era of Bathory discography.

2005
Baltic Terror Tour in February with Loits and Must Missa, both from Estonia. Targets: Helsinki, Tallinn and Riga.
In March, Hellbox is chosen as the ”Demo band of the month” in Finnish metal magazine Inferno.
In April, Len Hellkill steps temporarily aside because of a sick leave and is replaced by Tuomo Latvala from fellow metal band Torture Killer.
A record deal for the second album is inked in July, with a new Finnish metal label, Deviance records. New album, ”Infernothing”, is recorded in the end of September and mixed in October. Latvala plays drums on album.
Len Hellkill returns back to the ranks in October.
A single from the album, “Christmas Suicide”, is released in December and hits the Finnish single charts, being 5th at the best week.

2006
”Infernothing” released in January with a release party including fellow metalloids from Skyforger, Must Missa and Urn.
The most important gigs so far take place in April when supporting the mighty Bolt Thrower in Helsinki and Oulu.
Most summer festivals reject us but we manage to crawl on stage at Tuska festival afterparty + at Jalometalli festival.
The road to hell has just begun…
