Hard Melody was founded in Blanes (Girona/Spain) in 1989 by Frank Hinojosa (vocals), Jordi Mora (guitar) and Miky Corregidor (bass). Shortly after, Paspe Martínez would join on guitar, and in 1991 Billy Purdie would complete the definitive formation of the band as drummer. The band was active until 1994, doing dozens of shows and recording two demos, that were finally released together in 1992 as a single six-track cassette. The sound of the band could be described as Heavy Metal, although with strong influences ranging from Hard Rock to Thrash Metal.

In 2021, Frank, Jordi, Paspe and Miky decide to get together again to re-record some of those songs on an EP called '9121', that celebrates the 30th anniversary of their first recording. Iván Martín participated in the recording, and finally joining as the group's third guitarist. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by the band's bass player, Miky Corregidor, in his own studio (Red Cloud) and mastered by Aldo Gilardi-Magnan at Hitmakers Mastering (Lima, Peru). '9121' went on sale in February 2022, edited and distributed by Héroes de Culto and La Cataluña Metálica.
