Biografie : Evil Divine

Evil Divine was conceived by J. Demonic as a melodic death metal act and recorded a 3 song rehearsal demo entitled "Wolf Slay" towards the end of 1996 (with one bonus track). It included the original versions of "Blood...The Sweetest Elixir", "Last Class Soul" and "Wolf Slay"(unreleased) and a . The lineup consisted of J. Demonic (Vocals/Bass), J. Kennish (Guitars), M. Myers (Drums). On June 13, 1997, the band made plans to record "Blood...The Sweetest Elixir" for the now defunct Mortal Coil Records comp "Eat The Evidence, Vol. 2", but shortly afterwards J.Kennish left the band and J. Demonic recruited V. Geryon(B. Becht) (Guitars/Bass), Peter (Guitars), C. Zignacht (J. Zigmont) (Synth). This song was recorded at Mad Ferret Studios with Jay Lipitz (Insatanity) performing backing vocals and helping with the mix. Shortly after this, M. Myers left to continue a previous projekt with J. Kennish and a drummer in the form of Shadow was found. Evil Divine then performed it"s first show Halloween of "97 with an excellent response. In the meantime, Shadow introduced C.l.o.p.s.(R. Moll) to Evil Divine. Shortly afterwards, they began to perfect the old and write new material for a full length demo with Fester joining the global attack force on Bass. In the process of this, Clev was recruited on drums since Shadow lost interest to peruse other projekts.

Meanwhile, Evil Divine performed quite a few shows in the local area gaining momentum, and being banned by several counties. A noteworthy performance during this epoch would have been the Valentine"s Day Massacre show of "98. The lineup during these performances consisted of: J. Demonic (Vocals), C.l.o.p.s. (Lead guitar), Peter and V. Geryon (Rhythm Guitar), Fester (Bass), C. Zignacht (Synth), Clev (Drums).

In May, due to musical differences, C.Zignacht and Pete left the band when studio time was booked and Evil Divine started searching for a new synth player. They started auditions and Sekhmet Syatha was chosen. Within days they started to write new material because of very short time and a limited budget, they composed an exemptional 11 song self-financed CD entitled "Feathers Have Fallen" in a week and recorded the entire album in three days at Digital Dog Studios. The lineup for the recording in May "98 was: J. Demonic (Lead Vocals), Vampyc Geryon (Guitar/Backing Vocals), C.l.o.p.s (Lead Guitar), Fester (Bass), S.S.(Synth), and Clev (Drums). Evil Divine received much acclaim from "zines such as Nightshade, Enslain, Unchain The Underground, KHAOS AD, Metal Core and a host of others. Radio stations 89.5 MNMayhem, 94.1 WYSP, Interviews and play on 91.7 WLFR and much more. Promoters and fans around the world have acclaimed Evil Divine for that release and for their amazing stage act/presence, including a taped show and interview from Tales From The Pit BCAT TV show and a spot playing the Milwaukee Metalfest in "98.

In early September of "98 S.S. left because of personal differences, and C. Zignacht rejoined Evil Divine. More personal problems within the band reinvented itself so Fester, Clev, and V. Geryon left, with Chris becoming the new assault force on drums and S. Diabolica on guitar. During this time Evil Divine recorded a single, "Graveland Mist" at Vortex Sound for the upcoming 2nd full length and wrote much material. They also played one show that included original member J. Kennish filling in on bass. The lineup on this recording was: J.Demonic (Vocals), C.l.o.p.s (Guitar/Bass), S. Diabolica (Guitar), Chris (Drums), C. Zignacht (Synth).

The band received yet another setback almost immediately with differences between all members and Evil Divine was destroyed, including a 78 year jail sentence for Chris, while founding member J. Demonic was sentenced to a 1 year stay in a local psychiatric hospital.

From the ashes of this, M. Myers and J. Kennish currently play in an extreme hardcore act called Pneuma, and Shadow (C. Rehill) is now currently in Industrial/EBM act Lost Signal.

Recently, J. Demonic was released from the asylum and in his absence R. Moll, B. Becht, J. Zigmont, and 2 members of Black Metal act Solace In The Shadows have recorded a new full length album. R. Moll contacted J. Demonic about joining back with vokill duties and he accepted. The new album "Dawn before the dawn" is now out in attack force and Evil Divine is stronger then ever.
