Biografie : Dustsucker

If you know DUSTSUCKER you will also know what the name stands for: dirty, gut-twisting RocknRoll, which kicks ass with one foot pushing the pedal to the metal. And if you have never heard of the quartet from Germany's Westphalia, then just imagine an explosive mixture of MOTÖRHEAD, GLUECIFER, the HELLACOPTERS, RANCID and early METALLICA. Just saying these names should give you an idea of the fact that full-blooded rockers are at work here, taking absolutely no prisoners.

Founded in 1993 by two friends, Max Count Farmer (guitar, vocals) and Marco Piermattei (drums), DUSTSUCKER released their first album in 1994 under their own label Zylinder Records. The album was well received by the press and led to numerous club gigs in 1995. Their second album "Another One Sucks The Dust" was produced in 1996 by Ricky van Helden (Attack) in the Iceland-Studios and was the starting pistol for yet more gigs, amongst which they supported DOA, WARPATH and EXPLOITED. This was followed in 1999 by the "King Size RocknRoll EP and in 2001 by the album "Hookers Planet. In 2003 they recorded the "Backslider" EP under the cult producer and former THUMB singer Claus Grabke, and set about looking for a new label.

The remarkable reactions to "Backslider" led to a record deal with the Hamburg-based label Go Nuts Music (sister label of Limb Music Products), as well as a song on the "Geki-Teki Metal compilation released in Japan by that country's legendary Radio DJ Captain Wada. The full album "Rock N Roll Sniper was again recorded under the auspices of Claus Grabke in the Upstairs Studios and was released in September 2004. This album too enjoyed an enthusiastic reception and led to the the first part of the "Rock ´N´ Roll Sniper Tour at the end of 2004. They had scarcely arrived back home before DUSTSUCKER started writing songs for their next album, and, when the second part of the tour got underway in Autumn 2005, most of the next album was already finished. The new material proved to be much more compact and harder than its predecessor and from the word "go" it was obvious that the result could only be an absolute hammer of an album.

After the tour the band first played a game of musical chairs with their line-up and they were joined by the American Bill Salisbury (guitar) and Danny Duster (bass). The work continued to go smoothly and at the start of 2006 the song material was given its final touches and the new album entitled "Jack Knife Rendezvous was recorded, mixed and mastered in May 2006 in the Prophecy und Music Factory Studios under the direction of R.D. Liapakis (Mystic Prohecy, David Chastain, Jack Starr) and Christian Schmid.

The result didn't just outdo their own expectations but also those of everyone who heard the new material. Twelve killer tracks, bursting with energy hammer into your ear with the force of Jupiter. There's no unnecessary fiddly bits, no messing about, just rock, straight into your face, with a passion of RocknRoll that you don't hear enough these days. Rockers such as "Wasted Times" the mega-grooving "Dead On Wheels" and the merciless title track ooze high octane fuel and spit the dust in your eyes. One chorus after another to make you yell along with the lyrics, suggesting an acute danger of aching neck muscles and vocal chords.

Max and Marco are two thoroughbred RocknRollers who have been doing their thing for over 20 years. Growing up to the music of ROSE TATTOO, TED NUGENT and MOTÖRHEAD, they immerse themselves in their true passions: guitars, sweat and rock music. With DUSTSUCKER their RocknRoll lifestyle finds its home. They hurtle one loud and dirty track after another at your feet until you don't know up from down. Their new album "Jack Knife Rendezvous" will be released worldwide in September on the Limb Music Products label and will prove one thing above all: DUSTSUCKER are back and are stronger than ever before.
