Biografie : Diversia (EST)

The first days of Diversia route back to 1995, when Darja Tanashenko, Lena Mihhejeva and Sergei Kutergin formed such a band. The very first gig was played on the 8th of March 1996 in cultural centre “Lindakivi”. Since that they decided to perform every year on that day.
After a year, the drummer left the band and went to play in a band called Tallinn. The new drummer happens to be Denis Jefimov. At the same time the second guitar-player Anastasia Jung joins the band, featuring also backing vocals. With such a line-up they had a lot of gigs in local rock-clubs like Rio, Muti Club and Burevestnik.
For a while they had pretty productive period, during what they wrote most of their basic material. Then, expectedly, the bass-player and again the drummer did quit. And that brought a nasty, lazy era to Diversia’s activity.
It had almost become total disaster when they finally found a new bass-player Olga Elson and the drummer Sergei Tashajev, too, with whome they gigged after a long time on the 10th of October 1997 in the club “Krevetka”, a gig ment to celebrate the “rebirth “ and also Darja’s birthday. About a month later, the same kind of happening took place there, this time for the honour of Nastja and Olga.
According to the remarkable tradition, some months later Olga left the band and a new bass-player Julia Kukuruza walked in. The “goodbye-gig” for Olga was held on the 8th of February 1998 in the club WOG.
On the 9th of April 1998…no comments…again one “goodbye-gig” for the drummer. This was also the first gig with Julia. Soon, a new drummer, Scott was found. He keeps up the good work till July 1999. During that last year they travelled all over Estonia and played themselves well known inside Estonia. And also they managed to record three songs: Rain Song, Last Astral Dream and Come Back. After that Scott left.
Next, the almighty new drummer Jura still keeps playing with Diversia and whoever knows what’s waiting them…
