The materialization or coming into being for Devoid took place in the year 2005., in the city of Zagreb, capital of Croatia (Hrvatska) when Majn finally decided to bring life to old idea that was crystalized when the
first materials, that would later grow to the first demo, where made. From the begining it was set that Devoid will purely be one-man-band, without participations or influences from other people. Originaly, the name 'Devoid' was taken to interpret the feeling of destitute that this 'modern' world, in which all values are destroyed, inflicts upon everyday person, leaving a bitter taste and torn spirit and emotions. Following that thought and developing tracks, a greater deal of time has passed 'till the very first recorded material saw light, under a name 'Abeyance'. As the first demo, the 'Abeyance' recording became a perfect foundation and substructure for the later evolution and growth, regarding that it has very decent sound and production, due to the fact that it has been number one. The music presented on the demo features just about 40 minutes of raw, mid-tempo black metal, having a prominent dose of induviduality, with lyrical themes stretching from contemplation to melancholy and despair (caused by above mentioned feelings). Exploiting that emotions and complementing them with music, Devoid continues to progress and to develop it's musical pronunciation.
