Biografie : Despondent Chants

Despondent Chants Biography Despondent Chants was formed in the middle of 2002 by the brothers Carlos and Miguel Medina initially as a personal project, due to in that time several songs had been written. During a short period of time the songs were practiced, but because of the difficulty of not having a clear idea of how the songs would sound like, they decided to include the support of Miguel Vergara, ex Slow Death on the bass and Adler Zevallos on the guitar. This way several songs were completed and at the same time they were looking for a drummer and so they reached Emmerson Macedo on the first 2003 months. The band shows up for the first time in the middle of 2003 in a concert called “El lamento de los dioses” having very good response of the audience. With this line up they began to work on the first songs that gave a shape to the first demo, recorded on 2004 titled Despondent Chants, which contains six tracks: - Whispers (Intro) - Forest of Burning Souls - Silent Fields - Through these Dreams - Forgotten Roses on my Grave - In the Arms of Death (outro) Once the recording was finished, Emmerson decides to leave the band by personal reasons being replaced by Harold Farfan and after few months Adler Zevallos leaves the band, occupying his place in the band Blake Apaza. With this new line up the band plays in different places of Peru obtaining good critics from the audience, thing that gives the band more confidence. In march 2006 the band was invited to the Iquique Metal fest, but due to different problems the band was not able to show up in Chile. After this event Harold Farfan leaves the band, reason for the band to cancel many other presentations. After many months without a drummer we could contact Yuri Mena, who during about seven months was supporting the band and a few presentations could be done. But due to personal problems and the lack of time Yuri had to leave the band. Due to the constant lack of a steady drummer the situation made us make a drastic decision, Carlos (guitars), took the drummer's place and a new guitar player was called to join the band, Victor Irrarázabal takes Carlos' place in the guitars hoping to have a much more stable line-up in the band. At the time these events were happening the band kept working and since august of the current year, after taking several months of rehearsals and song writing, we get in the studio to begin the recording of our second demo, in which a better sound quality and production are being achieved. This new production will be released in December of the current year. Current line up: - Miguel Medina Vocals - Victor Irrarázabal Guitars - Blake Apaza Guitars - Miguel Vergara Bass - Carlos Medina Drums
