Biografie : Dekadenz

By the end of the year, DEKADENZ was founded to pursue a path of Dark Metal. In the beginning, the music's character was still somewhat undecided, and the artistry not yet refined. Not lacking, however, was the musician's level of personal motivation, quickly leading to the creation of the first live program, which in early...
...lead to a performance at a local live band festival. This first live playing experience transformed DEKADENZ from a mere project into a real band with firm goals. As the year wore on, a keyboardist joined as the band's fifth member, decidedly pushing their music's character closer to the realm of Melodic Black Metal, eventually redefining & inhabiting the music genre on its own. At about the same time, the band was faced with the departure of its drummer. Now, man was replaced by machine. This decision ultimately paved the way for the band's future evolution.
After the drum machine's circuits were eventually synched to the remainder of the band, a revamped sound,as well as a new live public appearance, led to several live performances - and soon to the production of the first demo recording. It was titled "Träume" (Dreams) and sponsored by a private power utility company.
By summer, the self-produced album "Träume" was released and sold 500 copies after which it went out of stock. The release was followed by several performances played in a handful of cities in and around NRW (North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany's Rhine area).
The band continued to focus on its musical development of Dark Metal musical stylings, and, of course, live performances. Since the German lyrics were regarded one of DEKADENZ's distinguishing qualities, they remain in the German language.
The band continued to place great emphasis on live performances during the course of the year; but even so, an almost obsessive urge for diversification was felt. Due to personal and musical development, the next evolutionary step inevitably led to the addition of more electronic elements to the music. At that point in time, DEKADENZ had achieved a reputation as a live band whose members had perfected their skills. The year ended with a few gigs in and outside of the NRW area.
During the first brisk days of the year a momentous "system crash" occurred: DEKADENZ's long-time keyboardist left. He was, however, quickly replaced, so that the countdown into the ultimate phase of evolution could begin. The band's style, resembling some sort of Dark Metal, now began to decompose under heavy electronic assault, driving the band into a final stage of self-discovery which gave rise to yet another genre: Dark Cyber Metal. The new keyboardist assimilated quickly into the band, and DEKADENZ took up playing live performances again. The first gig abroad soon followed, as well as several other concerts in and outside of Germany.
The first few days of the New Era saw the start of the programming of DEKADENZ's first official album-length record, scheduled for release in the fourth quarter.
