Biografie : Deathrazor

In 2009 Deathrazor was founded by guitarist Johnny Arce and Jesus Tovar. After fantasizing about their perfect band they started their journey. So they asked two of their closest friends Mario Garza and Miguel Vasquez if they'd be willing to learn an instrument and be in the band. The bands first names were Violent Resistance and Immortal assassin; with the line up being Johnny as the guitarist and vocalist, Jesus as the other guitarist, Mario as the bassist, and Miguel as the drummer. But not much was happening as a band, so they resumed to find a successful line up. At school a friend let Jesus know about a drummer in search of a band, so immediately he was approached and asked to be the drummer. Quickly enough he confirmed thus making Jorge Bocanegra the new drummer. Which set a new goal; practice practice practice. After months of practicing, learning, and covering songs, Jesus brought upon a family party that they were asked to play at, making it their first performance. The only fan in the crowd was Eloy Contreras, the cousin of Johnny and his inspiration into thrash metal. Although, before their performance Johnny felt he wasn't prepared to sing, so the band came up with the idea to ask Eloy, seeing as how he knew all the covers they were playing. Eloy accepted and did a good job thus being asked to be the bands permanent vocalist. Shortly after Eloy joined the band, him and Johnny were thinking of new names for the band and started thinking of a new name that would be fitting. So they sat in Johnny's room and started throwing out a bunch of names. Then it came to them Deathrazor. Coincidentally, thrash metal band Attomica has a song called Deathraiser, but this has no correlation and was not our inspiration, although we like song. After fulfilling a successful line up they started playing backyard shows with local Houston bands. With the help of our friends in the band Legion we finally got our first venue show September 1, 2011. As the band continued to practice they got a close friend, Sally Pena, that was at every show and every practice to help out which later got her the position as the manager of the band. She then started booking venue shows for the band and getting them out there. The band played their fair share of battle of the bands winning 3 out of 4 shows, gaining them studio time and money for merch and other band necessities. Having their first studio time at 360 studio to record originals, Ripping Heads and Thrash. After a couple of months Deathrazor had to say goodbye to their bassist Mario due to internal band issues and was later replaced by Jay Perez a close fan. His aspirations were to be a guitarist but his skills made him a good and persistent bassist for the band. Upon having a new bassist Deathrazor was finally ready to record once again. The next three songs Reign of Evil, Kings Fate, and Human Disposal were recorded at the home studio of a friend Brad Tinsley. As of now the journey of Deathrazor continues as it is, working harder to provide their loyal fans with a fresh and face-melting sound of thrash that is beginning to fuse with the old school riffage of Death Metal.
