In 2004, these two words do more than describe the Hamburg/Germany, based band Dark Age. The sound of the 5 Dark Metal guys is a symbol for revolution and evolution. To stop means to die. On the new album “Dark Age” the band presents aggressive and modern Metal with a non-compromising heaviness, filled up with deadly lead guitars. Concerning the production, Dark Age also took a next step by producing the album at the studio of vocalist Eike Freese, the “EiKey Studio”.



Within the past 8 years Dark Age have developed to a strong unity:

Besides the forming-members Eike Freese (Vocals & Guitars) and André Schumann (Drums) also Martin Reichert (Synth), Torsten Eggert (Bass) and Jörn Schubert (Lead Guitar) complete a unique combo.



Another reason for the success of Dark Age is the effort of their engaged and pleasant Hamburg-based label Remedy Records. The contract signed in 1999 guaranteed the releases of three records (The Fall 1999, Insurrection 2000 & The Silent Republic 2002) and an EP (Remonstrations 2003) so far. All three albums earned pretty good criticism and rankings in the European Metal press. The reaction on the last release was pretty enormous, proofed by a huge interview-marathon, the almost good to very good criticism and of course the positive fan reactions on gigs and via e-mail.



Of course Dark Age is not bound to Europe: “The Silent Republic” also released in Japan, where the band also got very positive reactions (e.g. in the Reader Charts of the magazine “BURRRN!”)!



Concerning the live engagement there is no doubt: Dark Age play with passion and dedication, so far they have proofed their skills with bands like THE CROWN, SODOM, HOLY MOSES, PUNGENT STENCH and many others.



The peek of the band's career was the Wacken Open Air 2003, where Dark Age rocked a crowd of about 5000 people!



With this gig they managed to place a track on this year's “Armageddon Over Wacken 2003” live album and the Wacken live DVD, to be released in June.



This year the band is already confirmed for the Wacken Roadshow, with which they gonna tour Europe.



The new record got very good response thus far, like 6 of 7 points in Germany's “Hammer” and the 4th rang in the “Hammer” soundcheck.
