Biografie : Dagon (USA-1)

Forming in 2005, Lansing, Michigan’s Dagon have spent the last four years formulating a sound all their own. With melodic twin guitars and a punishing dual-vocal attack as their tools, Dagon blends the melody of Swedish bands like Dark Tranquility with the aggression and speed of American bands like Slayer and Suffocation and the shredding bravado of 80’s titans like Iron Maiden. Lyrically, the band writes exclusively about topics related to the ocean. From pirates, to shark attacks, to the mighty Kraken, the scope of Dagon’s lyrics are as broad and epic as the Pacific itself. Highly influenced by the poetry of Poe and the prose of Lovecraft and Barker, each tale is intricately crafted to scare even the bravest soul off the beach.

Onstage, Dagon have proven themselves throughout the Midwest and the eastern seaboard in every venue imaginable, from suburban basements to 500 seat nightclubs. In the studio, they’ve crafted four discs of nautical thrash including: 2005’s “Secrets of the Deep” EP, 2007’s “Paranormal Ichthyology”, the DIY covers EP “Buried Treasure”, and their most ambitious effort yet, 2009’s “Terraphobic”.

With the release of “Terraphobic”, Dagon hit the road with a renewed fervor. Now is the perfect chance for anyone hungry for fresh metal to join the feeding frenzy! Look for them at a venue near you, and remember: audiences everywhere will soon learn to stay out of the water.
