Biografie : Blodwen

Blodwen (meaning: /white flower/ in Welsh) is a symphonic metal band born in Indonesia. Blodwen combines philharmonic orchestra, gothic atmosphere, melodic guitars and powerful versatile vocals to create spirited music filled with emotions and beauty.

Blodwen started in 2004 as a j-rock cover band called Private Joker. After gaining a modest fame among the community, they had to suffer hiatus due
to the departure of the lead vocalist for further studies. In 2007, Blodwen was introduced to European metal and it has never been the same since then. 2009 marked the official change in their vision and music, therefore the change of name.

Inspired by the likes of Nightwish, Amberian Dawn, Stratovarius and Yngwie J. Malmsteen; Blodwen is a taste of European lore in the eastern culture.

In the same year, Blodwen was contracted by Red Rivet Records - an underground metal label from Japan. Blodwen's debut album "Black Symphony" was released on Sept 2010 in both Japan and Indonesia, and now has reached Germany, USA, France, Spain, Norway, Thailand, Lithuania, etc. Reviews from all over the world had shown great potential in Blodwen.

Despite being a modest band from a small city, Blodwen aims to compete in the international stage.
