Biografie : Before The Harvest

Grabbing the listener with catchy hooks, reeling them in with ravaging technicality and snapping their spine with ruthless brutality, Before the Harvest are a remorseless force to be reckoned with.

By combining lacerating, riff-driven death-and-doom metal with the rollicking, raunchy heaviness that Australian deathcore acts are globally renowned for, this devastating quintet are indeed a must-listen for any fan of heavy music in any corner or crevice of the globe.

Forming in late 2011, Before the Harvest took their time in crafting their special blend of symphonic, eerie atmosphere and earth-shaking brutality.

Their debut EP, Lilth was released in 2013, and took the underground by storm, earning the band well-deserved notoriety from Brisbane to Boston.

Not simply satisfied with a sinister EP release under their belt, Before The Harvest took to the road, setting the North Queensland scene ablaze and supporting household names such as Signal the Firing Squad, Boris the Blade and Countdown to Armageddon.

Their incessant show schedule served only to kick-start the band’s creative engines, giving them a wealth of experience and influence to draw from as they re-entered the studio in 2014 to write and record their debut full-length release. Exemplified in their debut single, “Filthy Breed”, Before The Harvest are infinitely more mature and a billion-fold more brutal than the average deathcore act.

Drawing from Make them Suffer and Perdition-esque symphonic atmosphere and song structure, yet eviscerating the listener with slams that would make Disentomb and Ingested proud, Before the Harvest have something for fans of every heavy act—from Abominable Putridity to Whitechapel and beyond.

Poised to start off 2015 with a bang, you ought to get on board with these devastators from down under before they leave you drowning in a sea of punishing, pulse-pounding aggression.
