Autumn 1995. After having played in the death metal band Internal Putrefaction for several years, Bert Ferwerda (guitar), Meindert Sterk (bass guitar) and Hilbrand v.d Woude (drums) decide to fulfill their wish, namely to play music creating a mysterious and sultry atmosphere.

Under the new monicker Stonehenge a year of experimenting and line up changes follows. Rehearsing takes place with different keyboard players until Menno Terpstra performs his gloomy hymns and turns out to be the right man for the job. Meanwhile the band is baptized Autumn. Two months later Hilbrand is replaced by Jan Grijpstra (No Excuse).

In Spring 1996 Welmoed Veersma joins the band. Her voice has a Celtic timbre that makes her the ideal singer for the band. The combination of a female singer with bombastic riffs and melancholic interludes perfectly reflects the lyrics, telling tales about mysteries and legends.

The year 1997. Autumn is ready to start composing serious songs and in Summer launches the first 4 track demo CD titled "Samhain". After this release the band plays a lot of gigs in the north of Holland.

Early 1999 Welmoed leaves the band and is replaced by Nienke de Jong (Her Enchantment, guestvocals in God Dethroned and Callenish Circle). At the same time, the band draws the conclusion it needs more power on stage and a month later a good rhythm guitarist is found in Jeroen Bakker (Legacy of Hate).

In this line-up a 3 track promo CD is recorded in the Summer of 1999. This material attracts the attention of Samhain Records, a sub-division of Pink Records, who offer the band a contract to record and release their debut full length CD.

In July 2001, just prior to the CD recordings, Jeroen and Bert quit the band. Jasper Koenders (Her Enchantment) joins Autumn as new guitarist and records the album, "When lust evokes the curse" with them.

A second guitarist is found early 2002, when Jens van der Valk (Cantara and God Dethroned) decides to join the ranks.
With the line-up now complete, stable and strong, Autumn embarks on a sold out Dutch club tour with After Forever, and does a number of gigs supporting rising stars Within Temptation

After the release of "When lust evokes the curse" on June 24 2002, look out for Autumn shows in clubs and on festivals.

Autumn has already started the writing process for the next CD.
