Atomik is a local Miami Thrash Metal band.
Atomik started out in late 2008 with our drummer, Chris Fonseca, and lead guitarist Mario Carvajal. At first they played music together for fun; covering some Metallica songs. Soon after they decided they wanted to take it to the next level and decided to form a band. (Un-named at the time) They went on to get one of their friends, Erick Videla, on rhythm guitar. As they began to play more and more, they realized that they needed a bassist to have at least all the instruments a band needs, so they asked Andres Gonzalez, who they knew from their guitar lessons, if he would take the part. He agreed to jam with them and get the feel for things and soon after joined. Now the search was on for a singer. At first it was nearly impossible to find someone willing to sing their type of music, but luckily they had heard from a friend that Ryan Taylor was interested in the part, so sure enough the rest of the band invited him over for a jam. With a full line up, they were ready to go, except they needed a name. One practice, Chris and Mario thought of the name "Atomic". Someone suggested that they name the band "Atomik" with a k instead, and so they did. As time passed, Ryan Taylor asked if he could play rhythm guitar and both Erick and Mario play lead. So with the change in the line up, they now had Ryan Taylor on both guitar and vocals. In early 2010 we had decided to let Erick go because we no longer needed a third guitarist. In May of 2013, Andres left the band for personal reasons and nowadays.
