: ANNO MCMXCVIII

Marcelo Miranda (vocal/guitar) and André Guilger (guitars) decide to restart the activities of the band Grunks after four years of inactivity. So they call Roberto Toledo and Rogério, bass and drums. Just before their first show, Rogério left the band and Victor Rosa take his place and with him, André joins the band as Keyboardist. With this line-up, in December, a live-demo titled "Beyond Your Death" is recorded.

:: ANNO MCMXCIX

" Beyond Your Death" is promoted and the good acceptance on the underground is noticed but because ideological and personal problems André, Victor and André Guilger left the band. Roberto takes the drums and with Marcelo start working on new materials. On this period, the letter U is added and the band is now called Gruunks. New members join Gruunks, Filemon In (guitars) and Bruno Stort (Keyboards). On July, the band records Willothewisp Blooming in Wrath, to the Winds Of New Millenium III compilation released on Demise Records. At the end of that year, Gruunks has 2 songs for the DT "Beyond your Death" released on another compilation, Rock Soldiers III. After several shows invitations, Tomas Thorhart is called to play the bass parts.

With a large number of songs composed, the band starts the recordings of its debut cd and a new and definitive name is chosen, Arum, crowning the changes of the musical directions.
ARUM signs with Demise Records, but another line-up change happen and Filemon e Tomas left the band.

:: ANNO MMI

In January is released "Fierce Everlasting Tempest". The album gets excelent reviews worldwide, but once more, internal problems prejudices the promotions. For a short period of time David Calheran (ex-Centennial) and Paullus Moura (Morcrof), guitar and bass join Arum and Roberto e Bruno quit. Marcelo keep working on new songs and recruits Cláudio Scorcine (Eris Maestus) on guitars, David Suria (ex- Eris Maestus) and João Gobo, bass and drums.

:: ANNO MMII

After a few concerts Cláudio left the band and Arum continues, now as trio.On May is released a demo cd, ”Hellish Spells”.The band keep playing live and loud and is invited to perform on two of the most important festivals of the brasilian scene, In Conspirancy whith Satan, and the Bloodstorm Festival. During this period, the band compose material for its new album.

At April, ARUM end the recordings of its second album title “Inhuman Echoes From The Shadows” with lyrics by Baldur S9L (Canis Lupus) to be released by the American label KillZone Records.
