ARKHAN was created at the end of the year 2001 by Seb (bass, also ex-singer/bass player from the trash-metal band FEEL MY HATE -), Greg (vocal) and Chris (guitar). These 3 musicians had previously taken part of the swiss black metal band IPSUM. But despite the good reviews received by the first album of IPSUM and all the concerts which followed its released, musical and personal divergences induced a split inside the group. Greg, Seb and Chris started immediately a new project influenced by a mixture of black and death metal. They were quickly joined by a young American guitar player and together, they started to compose new songs.

Unfortunately the band encountered some hard time due to the lack of rehearsal room. In 2002 the guitarist returned in his native country and ARKHAN was almost a dead project. Fortunately, during summer 2002, the three musicians found a place to play in the area of Monthey (VS). Soon afterwards, Steph incorporated the band as lead guitarist, keyboard player and -as a drummer filling the desires of the musicians was still not found- programmer of the drum computer! Together they worked on many original compositions and defined the stylistic line of their music.
