The Swedish black metal act Amsvartner was originally formed in 1993 under the moniker Awakening. The Johansson twin brothers were only 12 years old at this time. In 1995 two demos were recorded and later on the sibling's much older brother Marcus took over vocals. Two albums were released through Blackend (with license to Metal Blade) before they decided to split up.
