“Another trio that knocked me out at SXSW, with more extreme prejudice, was Amplified Heat…Rock dreams that quickly came to mind: Stevie Ray Vaughan fronting the Groundhogs; ZZ Top with Blue Cheer running in their veins…” – David Fricke, Rolling Stone (2007)

AUSTIN, Texas – Arclight Records announces the release of Amplified Heat's sophomore album, How Do You like The Sound Of That? Produced by Amplified Heat with Chico Jones, the LP shows the musical growth they have endured since their debut on Arclight Records In for Sin in 2004. The album will be available in stores October 2, 2007.

After the release of In for Sin, vocalist and guitarist Jim, drummer Chris and bassist Gian, set out to tour the U.S. Driving from city to city, they saturated their ears with the sounds of Freddie King, Johnny Cash and ZZ Top. In January 2005, the band experienced a devastating blow when the brothers witnessed the passing of their father. The experience gave them a newfound devotion to the band and a vigorous dedication that only intensified their performances. They continued to tour throughout the year, slowly piecing together what would eventually become How Do You like The Sound Of That.

In the fall of 2005, the band suffered another setback as street altercation turned life changing when Gian and Chris suffered multiple stabbings. This failed to halt the band, however, and they returned to the stage only a month and a half later. They came back stronger and tougher, ready to plummet crowds with their “boogie war vengeance,” a term used by Rolling Stone genius David Frick to describe Amplified Heat live.

By the spring of 2006, Amplified Heat finally had enough material to return to the studio. They booked time at Nevele Eleven Studios in South Austin during the week of SXSW that year. Literally hours after completing the last tracks, a huge hailstorm passed through the city, causing the studio to flood. Once again, the band experienced another setback, making the release of the new material seem unattainable. The studio was forced to shut down and the basic tracks were shelved. This worked as a blessing in disguise as it gave the brothers time to develop the material.

Arclight Records eventually booked time at The Launch Pad, also in South Austin, where Amplified Heat paired up with Chico Jones and the completion of the record was set into course. Chris “Frenchie” Smith was brought in to work as a vocal producer and engineer. Smith worked with Amplified Heat on their 2003 EP and brought his years of experience to the record, cleaning up the tracks and helping to create a solid piece of work.

How Do You like The Sound Of That brings a more collaborative effort to the table. From Jim's in-your-face “Tough Guy” to Chris and Gian's catchy title track, this LP presents an array of bluesy rock ‘n' roll, nothing short of heavy swagger.

Amplified Heat signed to Arclight Records in 2004 and released their debut full-length album In for Sin in November of that year. This will be their third release with the label.
