The group as it is today was formed in May 2001 in Geneva by members having previously officiated in various formations of the local death metal scene. It is not easy to define ourselves in terms of style. Our individual influences are very different and this has the effect of playing a rich music and expanded, converging to a brutality that is meant sometimes refined.
The constant evolution of the group through each piece feels so different because of the comps. The theme song is also very varied,that's emotions of the moment who are master of our inspirations.
The group is currently holding a mini-album of five songs, "Necrosapiens" recorded during the month of August 2002, but also a demo of four songs titled "Hephaistos" recorded during the months of August and September 2004.
In three years, we had the opportunity to play with some major groups of the metal scene such as Geneva Prejudice, Body Bag, Sybreed (ex-Rain), or Fractal Point Stump Fucking. We also had the opportunity to play with us more renowned as Blockheads (F), Scarve (F) or Prostitute Disfigurment (NL). The year 2004 was the export of AMOK in the rest of Switzerland and Europe with a few good concerts in countries such as Slovenia, France, Italy or Belgium.
The times ahead will be especially devoted to the composition and recording an album to realize the work started on the demo 2004. Moreover, because always looking for new gigs to perform, we will certainly see AMOK in a few summer festivals or other events across Europe during 2005.
