Malakai Jones
Trans-Siberian Symphony
Oblivion Sacrifice
???? Malakai Jones – Lead Vocalist
Joined: 2023
Born: August 17, 1989 — New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
Malakai was raised in New Orleans, a city rich in folklore, mysticism, and night-life musicality. Growing up near the French Quarter, he was exposed to jazz, blues, hard rock, and theatrical performance culture.
He began singing at age 7 in school choirs, but developed his harsh vocals in his teens after joining a local metalcore band. His voice is naturally raspy, powerful, and theatrical — perfect for pirate-metal narrative songs.
Malakai’s primary influences include:
Matt Barlow (dramatic emotional power)
Jon Oliva (theatrical grit and tone)
Pirate-metal and folk-metal vocalists (stage charisma)
New Orleans street musicians (expressive phrasing)
Kazuki discovered him through a viral video of Malakai singing during a storm at an outdoor venue — fittingly pirate-like — and flew him to Japan for an audition. He became the official vocalist in 2023 and immediately reshaped the band’s sound into something more epic and aggressive.
Offstage, Malakai is blunt, funny, and surprisingly introverted. Onstage, he becomes a storm incarnate — commanding the crowd with booming vocals and intense pirate-war energy.
