Liste der Bands Death Grind Dripback Inhailing the Ashes

Grindcore is back baby! Dripback hail from England and they’ve just released Inhailing the Ashes through Siege Of Amida Records. Though Inhailing the Ashes may only be a 7” EP, the Brits have given their all to offer us a record that is as brutal as it is energetic.

Dealing with a Grindcore that shows more than a few hints at Death Metal, Dripback may be compared to Engorged for their Carcass-like anthems except they don't rely on it as heavily as the Americans but rather play a music with discrete Symphonies Of Sickness undertones so they won’t fall under the endless list of Carcass clones. On the other hand, the vocals alternating between Hardcore screams and Death Metal grunts are very much Engorged-like and the Mosh choruses are further proof of this.

Still, Dripback are way more violent than Gore 2 masters Engorged. Actually, their distinct Hardcore sounds give their music this added brutality. And why not? Remember, Grindcore derives from Hardcore. Much like the Czech Disfigured Corpse with whom they share quite a few things, it’s powerful, catchy and in your fucking face. If Dripback are just as good live as they are on records, you may expect full-fledged Armageddon from these folks.

Another interesting fact about these guys is not only their ability to create tracks with ridiculous amounts of energy, as found at the beginning of Inhailing the Ashes, but also to create more “introspective” tracks with more emotion (this is especially true on their very last track Under The Floor) as if they'd taken a few things from Prong and the likes to add to their energetic Grindcore.

Almost flawless if not for the short duration of this monster of an EP. And another perfect example that the once moribund UK scene is coming to life again. But who’d doubt it?
