This demo is a bold and brazen display of progressive death metal. It contains 4 pumelling tracks about violence and the end of the world. This band is from Quebec, Canada, they have a pretty decent metal scene there. With bands like Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, Despised Icon, Ex Deo, Neuraxis, Ion Dissonance, Gorguts, Voivod, Aldo Nova, and Derelict. I tried to have their name(Worignition) translated into French, because they are a French Canadian band. Their name couldn't be translated into French, so I assume that it's a play on words , and means to incite a war. The band formed in 2008 and self-released this demo, less than a year later. That goes to show the hard work ethic of this young band. They are a five piece band, with 2 guitarists, who thrash, and shred in a modern mode.

The opening track, Wasteland, is about the end of mankind, and the toxic environment that he has created. This song is very choppy, with a pleasing succession of notes. Their 2 guitarists really stand out on this song. The second track, Embrace the Apocalypse, is characterized with very melodic, yet modern shredding. It's got a very heavy, yet shifty sound. This is another song about the destruction of mankind. I recognize some influence from Corrosion Of Conformity in this song. The third track, Judgment Day, begins with a short, slow intro, like the beginning of Remember Tomorrow(by Iron Maiden). Then all of a sudden the song abruptly thrashes with a fast tempo and a much heavier sound. There are 2 different grim voices on this song and its style sounds similar to Riger. The rhythm guitar provides an auxiliary tone, for an interesting balance. This song has an atmospheric texture. All parts of this song are well adjusted, so that all of the performers can be distinguished. The final track, Shot In The Face, is very chaotic and thrashes at a very fast pace. The music reminds me of the style of Unearth, but the vocals of Michael Lussier, sound like the vocals of Jason Keyser( of Skinless) on this track. It has some very modern structures and I also notice some similarity to Meshuggah in this song.

This demo doesn't include 3 other tracks, which are available for listening(or watching) online. Like the instrumental songs Buried Alive and Asphyxiation, which are available on their My Space profile. Nor does it contain the track, Human Extinction, which is a live video on You Tube. So this production is less than 20 minutes long, when it could have potentially been longer. The album cover is almost plain, because it only sports their logo, but their My Space profile shows some intricate artwork that's not displayed on the album cover. I speculate that those shortcomings were due to financial concerns. Nevertheless, I bought this album online, and I'm very pleased with it. I haven't heard a lame song from them yet. I recommend this album for fans of Skinless and Unearth.

hack - 17 Februar 2010: Yeah, well somebody else added this album to SOM and put the tracklist in that order. I bought my download from Napster and they have a bad habit of mixing up the song order. SOM takes a very long time to correct band submissions. If personally edited that band. Otherwise, some of the administrators might fuck me out of a few points.
hack - 17 Februar 2010: Whoa! Cool, dude! I'm flattered to get a comment from one of the band members.
PoisonOath - 16 April 2010: No longer a member, neither is the vocalist.

thanks though ;)
