Review @ Dr.Feelgood

29 Oktober 2010
Fresh blood, new guys in power metal! Iron Fate come from Germany and their style is not europian power but, U.S. power. Something that I haven't seen again for many years. Despite this fact Iron Fate did what is nessecary when a band records its first album. It must be good enough to impress the listeners and Cast in Iron is more than good, is great and after the first listening you have a pleasure that you want to listen to it again and again!

Cast in Iron neither has new clues of U.S. power nor imitates other albums, it has its sound, its identity and a legacy from the '80s. The first track ''Iron Fate'' is the fastest song of the album and from the first screaming of Iron Ivan you are thinking of the voices of Warrel Dane from the Sanctuary's period and of James Rivera. The rest songs are not as fast as the first, but every song is different from the others. ''Resurrection'' is the song whose refrain easily stays in mind, but the best song of the album is ''Killer instict''. Just listen to its intro riff, lyrics and the solo and I'm sure that you will agree with me. What makes sense in these songs is the voice of Iron Ivan who can sing in any way he wants, he is able to change the tone of his voice in five seconds, Incredible voice!!

The album is from the rare albums in U.S. power that contains two ballads ''Imagine a better world'' and ''Painful sorrow''. The first ballad is the only bad moment of the album because its melody is not good and strong enough to make me feel pleased, but the second one which is the last song of the album is much better from the previous one and anyone can realise that, from its first melodic lyrics to the powerful refrain!

Iron Fate show their affects in the album which are two, Sanctuary and Helstar but, they have also some clues from the europian power, not so obvious. In my view Iron Fate and Helstar apart from the music have and something else in common, the singers, who both are short and their voice is higher than their height. I suggest to all those who are listening to U.S. power check this one immediatelly and you won't regret it. I hope their next album be better so to give them 20/20!!
