"SISMA" was a thrash/metal-core band, founded in 1999/2000, by guitarist Achille Speranza. Within their first line-up, there were former members of other metal and cross-over bands from Ravenna. Initially the band had two singers, Paolo Senni, a screamer; and Riccardo Durante, a singer with trash-death influences. Despite the stylistic difference between the two voices, the two singers are very skilled in alternating, and study solutions that make them highly appreciated in live contets. In 2001 Sisma recorded their first demo "Faceless Enemy" and chose to add a second guitarist to the band to have a greater sound impact in live concerts. After about a year, the line up was completely changed. Of the original line up, only the founder, Achille, and the bass player Giacomo Berdondini, remained; an element that had a huge role in Sisma, as promoter of the band.
As new elements, we find Andrea Roncassaglia from Imola on second guitar, the very technical Fabio Brognara on drums; and this time only one singer, Christian, very well known in Ravenna as "Cassa", historic voice of the death-groove metal band "Death Art". The live impact of the new line-up is devastating!!! A finally compact and aggressive rhythm section, powerful walls of guitars and the titanic Cassa as frontman, welcome circle pits and positive approval from the audience and other bands. In the live shows, some covers of groups such as Fear Factory, Machine Head and Il Nino are also proposed. The new line-up signs a contract with "Vacation House Records" (the first label of BROWBEAT), which in 2004, reprints, promotes and distributes the demo "Faceless Enemy" throughout Europe and beyond. The album, in addition to being sold online, was also sold in the magazine "Negative" and the first reviews (all fairly positive) from magazines and websites in the sector, such as "Metal Italia" and "Benzoworld" began to arrive. In every article, Sisma were compared (at least instrumentally) to Machine Head, and with obvious influences from Swedish trash-death. The sound was aggressive, and even the lyrics of the songs left no room for poetry or romanticism...indeed; perhaps they bordered on censorship for their violence. Unfortunately the band split up in 2006, just before returning to the studio to record the second album for Vacation House Records. A real shame for all the new material prepared by Achille and Giacomo...a full length CD that would have totally overshadowed the mini "Faceless Enemy".In about six years of activity, Sisma have shared the stage with established groups such as Browbeat and Sentence. The band has played several times in all those venues in the province of Ravenna and beyond that host groups and events with music that in Italy, unfortunately, struggles to emerge. We remember for the respect that they have earned some clubs and venues where the band has performed, such as the "Jyl" in Massa Lombarda, the "Brainstorm" in Fusignano, "'Exilia" (ex Valtorto) in Ravenna, etc., up to the rock disco "Vidia" in San Vittore di Cesenatico (three dates, one of which as support for Sentence), the small stage of the Heineken Jammin Festival in Imola and a big metal festival in the main square in Gorizia. After 19 years of silence, from the ashes of Sisma, "CERBERO" are being born, with a new line-up!!! No members from the past, except the founder Achille...the names of the new members will be revealed soon...and there will be interesting surprises...stay tuned!!!
