Founding member of Maximum the Hormone and older sister of guitarist Ryo Kawakita, Nao Kawakita is known for her hard and heavy drumming style. She also provides additional vocals in the form of various clean singing styles. In 2009-2010, she was forced to take a break from the stage as she was pregnant; she gave birth to a baby girl on May 6, 2010, and is now back behind the drum kit.
