Beyond were a band that never got the fame that they deserved, and a great shame they didn't, as this album shows some very interesting and experimental styles.
Quantum Bummer isn't really much of a metal album; it is full of all different kinds of styles; mainly rock but with some metal, jazz, country influences in a few songs. There's a few bass breaks here and there, acoustic guitar pieces and drum solos which are nice touches to the album. This is far from a complicated album though; the song structures are very basic and predictable like in pop music, but this doesn't take the enjoyment out of the songs, although it can leave them sounding a little dull at times.

This is still a good album though, but listeners of thrash/death metal or similar styles will have to be patient when listening to this album, as songs are generally mid-paced with non-heavy riffs.Overall this album is pretty good, but needs to be listened to with an open mind if your a dedicated metalhead. Highlights include "Mother Malkuth", "What is this", "Day and night aside", and "Sticky Crevasse".
